Daffodil Standards

Posted on:

Our practice has taken an important step towards improving the care of patients with advanced serious illness and those needing end of life care.

The Daffodil Standards help General Practice assess and improve the end of life care they provide. The Royal College of General Practitioners and Marie Cure have worked together to develop the Daffodil Standards in consultation with GPs. The standards are self-assessed and each of the eight Daffodil Standards include step-by-step guidance and support resources to be used.

The Daffodil Standards will help the whole practice team, increasing the confidence of the staff and developing a compassionate culture; recognising when someone needs support earlier and sensitively involving patients and families in their care.

We can now display our Daffodil Mark certificate.  This shows our practice’s commitment to excellent end of life care and support for patients with advanced serious illness.
